Propped shack

Site-specific installation in Demmitt, Alberta.  

I came upon this shack on a private piece of land in Alberta's Peace Country. Its roof had fallen in and it was rotting from the inside out. After removing the contents from the shack I cut its four corners and eased the wall outward, exposing its interior to the sky. This study remains on-site and will be documented each year to observe how the the elements and biodiversity integrate this structure into the landscape.
